Blogging Challenge - Challenge 6

Blogging Challenge
Week of 4/15-4/19
Activity 5: What is Digital Citizenship?

For this blogging challenge, I have chosen an activity where I got to play a game that tests my digital citizenship.  My score didn't turn out as good as I had hope; My "Digizen" score was a 40 out of 100.  I was very surprised by my overall score for the game.  I had thought that I was such a good Digital citizen!  I earned a 7 in "supporting Joe", who is the main character in the game that is being bullied.  I earned a 20 in "making sensible online decisions", which I was pretty happy about.  I earned a 12 on the first quiz and a 1 on the second quiz, which were both about safety online and digital citizenship.  Lastly, I earned a 0 on gathering information, which I was not very pleased about.  From this, I concluded that I did pretty well at making good decisions and knowing about online safety and digital citizenship, but I was not very supportive and didn't say the right things to help Joe end the bullying.  Overall, I was very surprised by my "Digizen" score on the game.

I have learned a lot about digital citizenship from this game.  I have learned a lot about what digital citizenship is, what to do online, and what not to do online.  I have created this Thinglink to help you learn about these important topics as well.

"If you reveal your secrets to the wind, you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees." - Khalil Gibran

Imagine that you are walking through the forest, and you stumble upon this mysterious sign:

What are ten secrets that you think could be hiding in this forest?  I have decided to create a ten-page digital storybook to show you what I think could be hidden in this forest.

“I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.” - Jorge Luis Borges

Paradise for me would most definitely include books somehow.  I love all sorts of books, from fantasy, to science fiction to mystery.  My favorite books would probably have to be fantasy.  I like fantasy because for me, books are a way to get out of my life and go into another, more interesting one.  With fantasy, I can go into a world much, much more interesting and fun.  Some of my favorite fantasy books include the Harry Potter series, the I Am Number Four series, and the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
I absolutely love to read books.  They are so fun to read and get into.  One of my favorite things to do in my free time is get into a good book and read it for a good hour or two.  They are so fun to get into and I just overall love reading them.  Books are not only fun, but they can teach me a lot of things that I didn't know before.  I have learned many new vocabulary words and terms I would have never known without books.  Books are good ways of raising your vocabulary and learning new things, as well as having something fun to do in my free time.

I would probably have to say that in my opinion, books are the absolute best thing ever created.  They are not only fun, but they can also teach you new words and vocabulary.  I love all sorts of books, including fantasy books, mystery books, romance books, and so on!  As said at the beginning of my post, Jorge Luis Borges once said, "I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library".  I loved this quote because for me, paradise would most definitely have to include books in some way.  I could not live without books!  Books are my greatest interest and I just absolutely love them.
